We have already said that meditation is extremely beneficial to the people psychological health and that it can also benefit physical health.

What many people do not know is that these benefits can be nowadays scientifically proven by a cellular level. Many researches are being done to understand better how meditation can benefit our lives, and even more benefits are being discovered that go far beyond the feeling of pleasure and relaxation provided by the practice. They can influence our biology!! The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology in 1989 studied the effects of meditation in relation to healthy longevity. The scientists were interested in evaluating its benefits. Two types of meditation were analyzed: Transcendental Meditation and Mindfulness Training General (which is the Full Care Training or Mind Gift with scientifically proven benefits) in patients in nursing homes. With this research, they found that patients who practiced meditation had higher levels of cognitive flexibility, mental health, and blood pressure than those who did not practice it. That means, they were more lucid, calm and oriented than those who did not practice and had lower levels of blood pressure. And the most interesting thing that was noted in the study was that those who practiced the Transcendental Meditation with more intensity had the best results and the physical and cognitive effects were more permanent.
